A forklift to be a successful model must be built powerful to last the working environments for numerous hours of use. It should be able to move cargo efficiently and quickly as well. The machine must also be ergonomically correct and comfortable for the operator.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and reliable. The powertrain needs the power to always provide great strength through its computer-managed engine and transmission. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs along with strong gears and really tough shafts. The engine, transmission, drive and steer axle are all isolated so as to reduce both noise and vibration inside the compartment of the operator.
GM & Mazda Gas & LP Engines:
The GM Gas and Mazda LP Engines are made from cast-iron blocks for long life. These types of equipment provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which needs minimal repair or adjustment. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which minimize wear.
Yanmar and Cummins Diesel Engines:
Within the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engines, a high compression ratio provides exceptional torque. Amazing fuel consumption is offered by efficient fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on most machines. It features gears that are 15% stronger and shafts that give resistance when driving on rough terrain. The durable clutch packs provide 3 times the life of preceding packs. Lastly, there is electronic inching available that automatically adjusts in order to reduce maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system uses a computer-controlled power reversal that minimizes shock loading, increases durability and extends tire life. In addition, the auto deceleration feature reduces brake wear and brake pedal usage.
Drive Axle:
Made for extra strength, the drive axle features its brake drum mounting, full floating axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes which are basically maintenance free and entirely sealed against contamination.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to protect the steer cylinder from damage and debris. It has fixed-length tie rods to add more durability and stability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist front to back and side-to-side forces. Also, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
Yale had made numerous ergonomic features and safety features part of their regular packages. These types of machines would handle tough settings, while keeping the operator comfortable and safe for the duration of their shift.
