Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They can run using gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for numerous uses. There are several facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the machinery must be refueled.
In order to prevent possible serious injury, certain safety measures should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. For instance: be certain to wear the correct safety equipment such as heavy gloves, safety glasses or goggles. Make certain that you turned off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
