Solid Lift Truck Tire Safety
Around 200 deaths each year are a result of accidents involving forklifts, or lift trucks. Proper inspection and maintenance of forklift tires can help to lessen the risk of mishaps.

Pre-Work Inspection
Before the start of each shift, the tires on the lift truck should be checked for indications of damage and wear. The air pressure inside the tires needs to be checked to ensure the pressure is not very low. Low tire pressure can make the machinery susceptible to tip-overs when lifting loads.

Kinds of Tires
The selection of tire type should be based on the type of surface on which the lift truck would be used. For indoor use, lift trucks with solid rubber tires are recommended. For smoother surfaces, tires are usually smaller. Bigger pneumatic tires are great for lift trucks being utilized outdoors. Pneumatic tires are able to grip rough surfaces well as they have rubber tread and are air-filled.

Other Considerations
Any lift truck utilized on a continual basis must be checked at the end of each shift, based on Occupational Health and Safety Administration guidelines. The tires must be checked once more for any indication of damage, like for instance cuts or wear.

Forklift Safety
Forklift safety is important for any employer or employee utilizing a lift truck since forklift mishaps could be serious resulting in personal injuries and even death. Even minor mishaps could cost you and your company money if the merchandise or the forklift are damaged during a mishap. Be sure you truly know a lot about forklift safety problems.
