Types of AC Forklifts
In today's busy material handling market, application efficiency, low maintenance and of course high power are all crucial factors. AC technology is ideally suited for indoor uses, particularly with its brushless features. This type of forklift is practically maintenance free and enables you to focus on finishing the task.
Types
There are various types of AC forklifts which could meet and even exceed your requirements. Design for indoor application offers dependable power and low maintenance. Some of the many types of high capacity lift trucks provided by Hyundai are Electric Counterbalanced Lift Trucks, Tow Tractors/ Tuggers, Very Narrow Aisle Turret Lift Trucks, Walkie Trucks, Electric Narrow Aisle Lift Trucks and Narrow Aisle Order Picker Lift Trucks.
Function
Alternating current or AC technology is more productive and is energy efficient. These models are a lot more cost effective and dependable than the conventional DC or direct current technology. AC forklifts were designed to provide high power indoor use. Usually, a battery of 36 to 80 volts is utilized to get the power and torque needed. The AC technology provides a longer time period in between recharging. This allows the forklift to be used for longer periods of time. In addition, the AC motors are absolutely enclosed and this reduces dust and exposure with no motor brushes, which means much less maintenance and less sparking.
Benefits
Being able to eliminate your maintenance gives you much more time to concentrate on your visit and saves you quite a bit of money. As previously discussed, AC technology does not have motor brushes which also lowers maintenance and increases productivity. Another advantage is that AC motors have less parts which are wearable resulting in savings on labor and components. AC motors are overall much quieter compared to DC motors and this helps increase operator awareness on the jobsite.
Manufacturers
Some manufacturers currently offer AC power forklifts. Several of the brands available include Raymond, Hyundai, Yale, Hyster and Mariotti.
