Various Kinds of Aerial Lift
A particular type of heavy machine which enables an individual to be raised into the air is aerial lifts. These machines are usually utilized to perform repairs on areas which are high up in the air like on roofs, near street-light fixtures and power lines. Like most tools, there are different kinds of aerial lifts that can be utilized to complete a variety of jobs. For the utmost safety, each and every type of different type of machinery requires proper training and specific certification prior to using it.
Scissor Lifts
Genie lifts are another name for scissor lifts. These machines are the most basic type of aerial lift available. These lifts are made of a platform which is lifted up using pneumatic power and are mainly used for indoor applications. Usually, scissor lifts are the safest kind of lift models. When completely compressed, these scissor lifts are capable of being driven similar to big carts. Generally, when the platform is extended, they are not able to be driven for safety reasons. Before anyone could use these tools, employees need to be certified as operators.
Boom Lifts
The boom lift is a much more complicated kind of aerial lift equipment compared to a scissor lift. The boom lift normally has a much wider base to keep the lift anchored. It utilizes a jointed arm which has a bucket on the end of it. There is a control box situated in the bucket that enables the operator to lower and raise the bucket. As the arm of the boom is jointed, it could also move from side to side. The boom lift looks like a tail of a metal scorpion. Traditionally, it is used in construction applications outdoors. The boom lift is considered to be more risky to run than scissor lifts, thus, operators should be certified individually for these kinds of lifts.
