Use a Pneumatic Forklift
You can often find pneumatic forklifts in shipping and warehouse operations. Also referred to as pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used in order to move materials and products around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks that are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump which can lift the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is designed to be operated by a single individual.
To be able to prevent loosing control while raising heavy loads, pallet trucks should always be operated carefully. Machine must be inspected prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Check that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet should be carefully stacked to be able to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.
In order to release air in the pump and lower the forks, squeeze the lever situated on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks should be centered to ensure equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not lift the pallet too high or the forklift could unbalance.
Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and dragging it behind you. It is really not safe to push the pallet ahead of you since the momentum could cause it to lose control. Take turns slowly and don't attempt to stop abruptly. Stop slowly, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
